Staff members had to evacuate the intensive care patients to other floors, the Associated Press reported. Other staffers used towels and plastic bins to try to get up the floodwater.
Dr. Birgit Bodine said, "The ambulances may exist coming soon and nosotros don't know where to put them in the hospital at this bespeak considering we're doubled and tripled up."
She said patients have been mostly understanding and upbeat.
"For united states of america, as much as everything is terrible and we're exhausted ... as long every bit our patients do OK and nobody ends upward dying or having a bad issue, that's what matters," Bodine said.

Storm surge and a loss of power knocked a Fort Myers TV station'south newscast off the air.
Wink said it lost ability at five p.thousand. Wednesday.
"We are like everybody else," said Tom Doerr, director of local news and content at Wink News. "We are experiencing the aforementioned difficulties similar everybody else."
The station's master meteorologist Matt Devitt posted on Facebook, "Storm surge got into Wink, flooded out our entire set and newsroom in Fort Myers. Lost power and I was unable to continue broadcasting on tv and radio."
